The Length of Daylight - IV | 2021
On the autumnal equinox in 2021, I kept a candle lit through the day from sunrise to sunset photographing it every few minutes.
To keep a candle alive,
It is required to keep checking
on its decay, to watch it disappear,
to make sure it is still afire.
To keep a candle alive,
I must light another.
To keep a candle alive,
It is required to exhaust it;
to allow an irreversible exhaustion.
And this is what worries me.
